Unix (Linux and Solaris) Security --- A Survey

Security is vital for all networked computers, particularly those up and running 24/7, and machines running services such as Web/HTTP, telnet, FTP, sendmail and NFS.

This document surveys security-related issues and software for Unix-like operating systems.
